Job summary

Porter Law Firm in Houston, TX is seeking a paralegal to assist attorneys in preparing and organizing various legal documents for transactions and litigation.

You will support upcoming cases by organizing files for different proceedings, maintain pleadings, draft documents, file with courts, and help with discovery and trial preparation. Responsibilities

• Summarizing cases and preparing reports for attorneys.
• Conducting research, investigating facts, and developing legal arguments from a variety of sources.
• Drafting legal documents such as contracts, leases, loan documents, and other communications.
• Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
• Preparing and filing documents with courts.
• Organizing and archiving the documents related to completed and ongoing cases including exhibits, documents, briefs, and appendices.
• Keeping track of changes in legal framework and providing timely updates on these changes.
• Attend telephone conferences and prepare synopsis memoranda.
• Aid attorneys with interrogatories, requests for production, and other discovery requests.
• Redact information from documents.
• Assist in trial preparation by preparing binders, indexing discovery, and preparing trial exhibits.
• Prepare witness preparation binders.

Porter Law Firm is seeking a paralegal to assist lawyers in preparing and organizing various legal documents for transactions and litigation. The paralegal will also serve in a support capacity for upcoming cases and trials by organizing files for different legal proceedings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

• Summarizing cases and preparing reports for attorneys
