Job summary

Viles & Beckman in Deerfield Beach is seeking a paralegal to support a growing litigation team, handling personal injury files from suit pending through resolution. The role offers remote start with Fort Myers team training and a path to primarily in-office work once the new Deerfield Beach office opens.

You will manage deadlines, draft pleadings, file documents, and coordinate depositions and mediations, all while delivering compassionate client service and a five-star experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 75 to 85 personal injury litigation files from suit pending through resolution.
• Draft and prepare litigation pleadings and forms for attorney review.
• File documents using Florida e-filing portals.
• Review and finalize first-draft discovery responses prepared by your Litigation Case Manager.
• Maintain consistent, compassionate communication with clients, including in-person meetings once our office opens.
• Complete inbound and outbound discovery accurately and on time.
• Coordinate depositions, mediations, and arbitrations between all parties.
• Take ownership of trial preparation processes, including trial binders and exhibits.
• Assist attorneys with legal research and case support tasks.
• Ensure case deadlines are calendared and met with precision.

After years of serving injured people and their families from our Fort Myers office, we are opening a new office in Deerfield Beach to serve clients across South Florida. You are a self-starter with strong attention to detail and a heart for helping others. You enjoy supporting attorneys through the litigation process and making sure clients feel cared for, informed, and protected.

You are obsessive about details, and the thought of missing a deadline gives you nightmares. You are comfortable drafting pleadings and discovery, managing deadlines, coordinating depositions and mediations, and keeping cases moving forward efficiently. You do your best work in person, face to face with your team and your clients, and you are excited to help shape the culture of a growing office.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

Position Overview

As a Paralegal in our Deerfield Beach office, you will play a key role in our Litigation Department, managing personal injury files from the suit-pending phase through resolution.

Our Deerfield Beach office is not yet open. Initial training may be conducted remotely with our Fort Myers team, and this position will transition to primarily in-office once the Deerfield Beach office opens.

You will work alongside a dedicated Litigation Case Manager and your supervising attorney as part of a case team, while collaborating closely with our Fort Myers team. You will make sure deadlines are met, discovery is handled promptly, mediations are coordinated smoothly, and clients receive a five-star experience rooted in compassion, respect, and trust.
