We are seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to support attorneys throughout all stages of litigation. Working under the direction and expectations of the practice area Section Head, this position assists with case management, fact investigation, document review and production, database management, docketing, court filings, trial preparation, legal research, and overall client service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage a high-volume workload with limited supervision.

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee (on-site). Candidates from Chattanooga and regional markets are encouraged to apply and must be willing to commute or relocate to the Chattanooga area.
Monitor, review, compile, and organize case and client materials; update case information; and maintain master file indexes and client files.
Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery, summonses, motions, complaints, appeal letters, correspondence, affidavits, subpoenas, trial binders, case summaries, and other due diligence materials.
Prepare discovery requests and responses; assemble, organize, and index production documents; and maintain current pleading and production indexes.
Prepare and process state and federal court filings and e-filings, including supporting documents, service follow-up, deadline tracking, and court-formatting requirements.
Conduct legal research using Westlaw, litigation-support databases, and other research platforms in preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials.
Assist with trial preparation by coordinating witnesses, experts, and depositions; preparing exhibits; organizing trial materials; and attending trial as needed.
Coordinate hearing and trial dates with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and other participants.
Maintain responsive client communication, provide case-status updates, and distribute pleadings and other case materials.
Coordinate service of process and court filings; assist attorneys with calendars and preparation for appearances.
Oversee the opening and closing of client matters, including providing detailed information for internal conflict checks.
Three to five years of related experience and/or training in an organization providing paralegal services in support of litigation work.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, DocuSign, Westlaw, web-based research tools, state and federal e-filing procedures, and legal terminology and procedures.
Ability to work with limited supervision, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and produce accurate, high-quality work efficiently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and other participants.
High attention to detail, accountability, professional integrity, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret applicable statutes, judicial decisions, legal guidelines, and regulations.
Commitment to continuous learning and maintaining current industry knowledge and skills.
Experience with civil defense matters.
Experience with NetDocuments, Legal Management Solutions, litigation-support databases, and electronic document-review platforms.
APA paralegal certification, advanced certification in a related area, and/or notary certification.
