Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with litigation tasks: drafting discovery documents, subpoenas, and motions.
• Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files using legal case management software.
• Schedule and calendar hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, and court personnel.
• File documents with state and federal courts (electronic and in-person).
• Coordinate service of process and track deadlines to ensure compliance.

The Capital Law Firm, P.C. is a growing plaintiff personal injury law firm dedicated to delivering exceptional client service and outstanding results. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Litigation Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic Personal Injury team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in all stages of the litigation process, ensuring that personal injury cases progress smoothly and efficiently. This position requires excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills, as well as a passion for client advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with litigation, including drafting discovery documents, subpoenas, and motions
• Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files using legal case management software
• Schedule and calendar hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, and court personnel
• File legal documents with state and federal courts (both electronically and in-person, if needed)
• Coordinate service of process and ensure timely follow-ups
• Track litigation deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
• Assist with trial preparation, including preparation of exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
• Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, copying, mailing, and managing incoming correspondence

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of litigation experience in a personal injury law firm (preferred)
• Knowledge of California court procedures and e-filing systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software (e.g., Filevine, CasePeer, or similar)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in Spanish required

• 8 hour shift

• Litigation: 2 years (Required)
• Personal injury law: 2 years (Required)
