Job summary

Hooks Meng & Clement (HMC) is seeking a motivated Law Clerk for our Las Vegas office to gain hands-on litigation experience. You will work with experienced attorneys on legal research, drafting, case management, and all phases of litigation in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a law school student or graduate, strong communication skills, and daily use of Filevine. Southern Nevada residency and a commitment to excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be in law school or have graduated from law school.
• Strong written and verbal communication with accuracy.
• Excellent time-management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of the legal system and terminology.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork with clients and staff.
• Daily use of the Filevine case-management system.
• Demonstrated passion for the practice of law and professional conduct.
• Must reside in Southern Nevada.
• Ability to bring A‑game daily.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys.
• Assist with preparation of pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Support case management: scheduling court appearances, preparing summaries, organizing files.
• Communicate with clients, court staff, and others as directed by attorneys.
• Collaborate in a team and work independently as needed.
• Meet or exceed monthly billing requirements.
