Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detailed docketing professional to support litigation teams with docketing, calendaring, and deadline tracking across federal, state, and county courts. You will manage the computerized docket system and respond to requests regarding calendared events and court procedures.

The role requires seven years of related experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and CompuLaw or comparable docketing software.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail are required.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize, balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software programs.
  • CompuLaw or comparable docketing software experience is a plus.

Job description

  • Provide comprehensive docket reports to case teams
  • Answer any questions that may arise and research complex issues
  • Train staff and attorneys on the Firm’s docket software and the proper procedures related to docket/calendaring
  • Maintain the computerized docket system for litigation attorneys practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions
  • Review correspondence, pleadings, discovery, filings and deposition notices for relevant and pertinent deadlines
  • Manage complex, high end docketing work (e.g. scheduling orders)
  • Respond to requests regarding calendared events, pleadings, and court procedures
  • Research questions from attorneys, paralegals and/or secretaries regarding deadlines
  • Train staff and attorneys on the computerized docket system and proper procedures related to docket/calendaring on an ongoing basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of seven years of related experience
  • An understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings at the federal, state, and county level strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new software programs
  • CompuLaw or comparable docketing software a plus.
