City of Colorado Springs seeks a Senior Attorney or Attorney for the Litigation/Employment Division to handle civil and employment matters for the City and its enterprises. The role involves litigation from inception through appeal and providing legal counsel on diverse employment issues.

Qualified candidates will have a JD from an ABA-accredited school, Colorado Bar admission, and experience in civil and employment litigation, with strong research and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in general civil litigation, employment law advising and/or litigation, and/or criminal trial/litigation or other relevant experience.
• Admission to the Colorado Bar as an attorney in good standing upon start date
• JD or equivalent from ABA-accredited law school; admission to Colorado Bar required on start date

Responsabilités

• Litigate a variety of civil state and federal court cases from inception through trial and appeal.
• Provide legal advice, reviews, and representation on employment matters; respond to public records requests.
• Support other City Attorney’s Office divisions as needed; collaborate with staff and external partners.
