Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with 3+ years supporting Commercial Litigation and Corporate Transaction practices to join our Royal Oak, MI office.

In this role, you will work in close partnership with assigned attorneys, supporting matters from inception through resolution while managing a dynamic workflow and delivering high-quality administrative services to our business clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years as a Legal Assistant, preferably in litigation.
• Experience supporting litigation in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal filing procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Professionalism and excellent written/verbal communication.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proactive, ownership-driven approach and reliable teamwork.
• Capable of challenging fast-paced, high-volume workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage calendars, dockets, deadlines, and appointments with accuracy.
• Perform e-filing in state and federal courts.
• Coordinate and support litigation matters, including document handling.
• Screen client calls and correspondence; respond independently when needed.
• Draft and format emails, confidential correspondence, and reports.
• Conduct UCC searches, lien, and title searches.
• Complete annual corporate filings and reports.
• Assist with entity formation, qualification, and dissolution filings.
• Maintain attorney billing processes and related spreadsheets.
• Maintain organized client files and document management records.
• Anticipate attorney needs and prioritize workflow.
• Provide back-up support to other legal assistants as needed.
