The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Litigation Attorney with shareholder and LLC experience for a remote, US-based contract role. You will contribute legal expertise to an AI training project by drafting litigation materials, developing case strategies, and evaluating legal responses against defined rubric criteria.

What You’ll Do

You will respond to evolving commercial dispute scenarios involving shareholder and LLC issues. Work may develop across multiple turns as new facts, instructions, and feedback emerge.

  • Draft motions, briefs, demand letters, and discovery materials.
  • Develop and update case theory and strategy as facts change.
  • Identify rubric criteria for strong and effective legal responses at each stage.
  • Incorporate senior-professional feedback and refine submissions efficiently.
  • Flag ambiguities, missing information, and procedural hurdles for resolution.
  • Work exclusively with public or synthetic case materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality and legal best practices throughout the project.
Requirements

This role requires substantial hands-on litigation experience and strong legal drafting ability. Your background should include direct responsibility for drafting, discovery, and motion practice after earning a JD.

  • Current or previous bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • At least three years of active litigation experience post-JD.
  • Hands-on experience with drafting, discovery, and motion practice.
  • Specialized experience in shareholder and LLC litigation.
  • Knowledge of fiduciary duty, oppression, buyouts, and governance issues.
  • Exceptional written English and fluency in legal drafting and argumentation.
  • Ability to synthesize direction and feedback quickly while maintaining high standards across complex scenarios.
