Job summary

Institute for Justice in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking experienced litigators to join our headquarters office. You will work on cutting-edge constitutional cases and champion individual rights while collaborating with a national team. Attorneys develop their own cases, set legal strategy, take depositions, and present oral arguments through all stages of litigation, maintaining ownership up to the U.S.

Supreme Court. We value initiative, strong writing, and impact.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• At least 5 years experience litigating cases in federal or state courts.
• Litigators of all experience levels considered if other qualifications are met.
• Judicial clerkship experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop own cases and direct legal strategy.
• Take depositions and present oral argument through all stages of litigation.
• Maintain ownership of cases up to and including the U.S. Supreme Court.
• Contribute to media writing, public speaking, and advocacy.
