Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified attorney to participate in all phases of complex litigation, from inception through resolution, including trial preparation and support. You will collaborate with partners and clients on strategy, risk assessment, and case management, and conduct robust legal research and drafting across pleadings, discoveries, and motions.

The role emphasizes insurance coverage analysis, bad faith matters, and environmental/mass tort disputes.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice in Washington or Oregon and in good standing with the applicable state bar.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment.
• Motivation to take ownership of matters and work directly with clients.
• Experience with, or strong interest in, insurance coverage, bad faith, environmental coverage, and complex commercial litigation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of complex litigation from case inception through resolution, including trial preparation and trial support.
• Collaborate with partners and clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, coverage analysis, and case management.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Assist with insurance coverage analysis, coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and bad faith matters.
• Work on sophisticated insurance coverage disputes involving environmental, toxic tort, and mass tort claims.
• Engage with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
• Attend and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.
• Help manage matters, develop litigation strategy, and maintain strong client relationships.
