Job summary

gpac is seeking a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join one of our client firms in California. This role offers meaningful litigation experience, strong mentorship, direct client interaction, and a long-term path for professional growth.

The attorney will handle complex civil litigation, manage cases through all stages, draft filings, conduct research, take depositions, and participate in mediations while collaborating with partners and support staff.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex civil litigation matters, including construction defect, real estate and business disputes.
• Manage cases and assist with matters through various stages of litigation.
• Handle written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions of parties and witnesses.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
• Conduct legal research and develop persuasive legal arguments.
• Appear in court for hearings and other litigation proceedings.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Work closely with partners and support staff while developing independent case-management skills.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing records.

The firm handles a broad range of complex civil litigation matters and provides associates with substantive responsibility and hands-on experience throughout the litigation process.

• Manage cases and assist with matters through various stages of litigation
• Handle written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Take and defend depositions of parties and witnesses

• Conduct legal research and develop persuasive legal arguments
