A well-established New Jersey law firm is seeking a talented and motivated Litigation Attorney with at least 3-5 years of experience to join its litigation practice.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys independently managing active matters while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will support and work alongside experienced attorneys on sophisticated civil litigation matters involving both public-sector and private-sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an active civil litigation caseload from initial case assessment through resolution
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents
- Handle all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, depositions, and related motion practice
- Prepare matters for hearings, trial, and other court proceedings
- Attend court conferences, hearings, and other appearances
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to litigation strategy
- Advise and represent clients in matters involving municipal and government-related law
- Work on matters involving redevelopment, long-term tax exemptions, and, as applicable, labor and employment issues
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active New Jersey law license in good standing
- 3+ years of relevant civil litigation experience
- Ability to independently manage active litigation caseloads
- Experience handling depositions, motion practice, discovery, and court appearances
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Strong work ethic, sound judgment, and a desire to develop professionally within a supportive legal team
- Base salary range: $130,000–$170,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall background
