Job description

A venture-backed legal technology company is seeking a junior to mid-level attorney to join their mission of transforming the way litigation is practiced by utilizing artificial intelligence. Founded by experienced attorneys with backgrounds spanning top law schools, management consulting, software engineering, and complex litigation, the company operates a unique dual business model: developing AI-powered litigation software for law firms while also running an innovative technology-enabled legal practice. Having raised significant seed and pre-seed funding from leading venture capital and angel investors, the business is experiencing strong growth across both its technology and legal services divisions. The firm represents startups, emerging companies, and businesses in regulated industries, while continuing to expand into new areas of litigation, including employment disputes and class-based actions. At its core, the company's mission is to modernise the legal industry by helping lawyers build stronger cases, work more efficiently, and provide clients with better access to high-quality representation. By combining experienced legal judgment with cutting-edge AI tools, the team is challenging traditional law firm models and creating a more effective approach to dispute resolution. The culture is entrepreneurial, collaborative, and highly autonomous. Team members are trusted to take ownership, move quickly, and make meaningful decisions from day one. This is an ideal environment for lawyers who thrive in fast-paced settings, enjoy solving complex problems, and want to play a tangible role in shaping the future of legal services.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Managing litigation matters from intake through resolution with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Handling a mix of defence and plaintiff-side disputes across a variety of practice areas.
  • Advising clients on legal strategy and building trusted relationships with founders and business leaders.
  • Leveraging innovative AI tools to streamline litigation workflows and strengthen case outcomes.
  • Working closely with product and engineering teams to help shape the future of legal technology.
Key Requirements
  • 2-4 years of litigation experience, ideally gained in a boutique, plaintiff-side, or other hands-on litigation environment.
  • Admission to the New York Bar.
  • Strong client management and communication skills, with the confidence to lead discussions on legal strategy and case developments.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of matters with minimal supervision.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to navigate unfamiliar challenges and practice areas.
  • A genuine interest in legal technology, AI, and the future of legal services.
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound litigation judgment.
  • Excellent written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Why Join?
  • Join a well-funded, venture-backed legal technology company that is reshaping the future of litigation through AI.
  • Take ownership of cases from day one, managing matters end-to-end with significantly more responsibility than a traditional law firm role.
  • Work directly with founders, engineers, and product teams to help build cutting-edge litigation technology.
  • Gain exposure to a broad range of disputes while developing both legal and commercial skills in a fast-growing startup environment.
  • Competitive compensation package including a $140,000-$180,000 base salary, performance-based bonus, and equity participation (0.15%-0.5%), providing meaningful upside as the business continues to scale.
  • Flexible, remote-first culture with direct access to leadership and a strong emphasis on autonomy, initiative, and professional growth.

For lawyers who thrive in entrepreneurial environments and want to move beyond the traditional law firm model, this role offers the rare chance to combine hands-on litigation experience with the excitement and upside of an early-stage, venture-backed startup
