Job summary

Elgen Staffing seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney in Melville, NY for foreclosure matters. The role involves drafting and reviewing foreclosure pleadings, attending settlement conferences, and advising clients. Remote and in-office work are available, with travel as needed.

Requirements include New York Bar membership and 3–5 years of foreclosure experience, plus a JD from an accredited law school. Excellent communication and multitasking abilities are essential in a fast-paced firm

Qualifications

• Member of the New York Bar with active license and ongoing CLE requirements.
• Minimum 3–5 years of foreclosure experience.
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; Bachelor's degree also required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and colleagues.
• Strong time management and attendance; capable of multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review foreclosure motions: summons, complaints, orders, and judgments.
• Attend foreclosure hearings and mediation appearances.
• Advise clients on legal strategies and case analyses.
• Draft court pleadings, status letters, and written requests.
• Collaborate with supervising foreclosure attorney and per diem counsel.
• Coordinate bank appearances and client appearances; travel as needed.

Compensation: 100000.-140000. / Annually

Our client, a prestigious, nationwide, law firm dedicated to providing legal services to financial institutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Litigation Attorney, to join their winning team in Melville.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for drafting and reviewing foreclosure related pleadings, in addition to attending foreclosure settlement conferences for the Firm. You will utilize legal knowledge and experience as necessary to facilitate the process on the behalf of our clients and work both remotely and in the office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and Review Foreclosure Related Motions such as Summons and Complaints, Orders of Reference, Motions for Summary Judgment and Judgments of Foreclosure and Sale
• Attend Hearing and Mediation Appearances
• Prepare Analysis of cases and advise Clients regarding legal strategies
• Draft Court Pleadings, Status Letters, Denial Letters and Written Requests
• Must collaborate with Supervising Foreclosure Attorney, Business Unit and Per Diem Appearance Counsel
• Provide Legal Directives for Clients on the behalf of the Firm
• Directly Manage Escalated Cases including the management of Client Systems
• Coordinate Bank Rep and Client Appearances
• Must be willing to Travel on an as needed basis

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Member of the New York Bar while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
• Minimum 3-5 years of foreclosure experience
• Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Effectively communicates with all clients (via client systems, e-mail and phone).
• Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance.
• Takes initiative in face of obstacles and identifies what needs to be done and takes action.
