Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join our team and manage a diverse civil litigation docket with a focus on insurance defense and tort litigation. The ideal candidate will handle case strategy from intake through trial, draft and respond to motions, conduct depositions, and appear in both state and federal courts. This role requires strong analytical ability, persuasive advocacy, and excellent client communication skills in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a mixed civil litigation caseload including insurance defense, mass tort, and general tort matters.
- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents for state and federal courts.
- Conduct legal research and draft clear, persuasive legal memoranda and motion practice.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and handle discovery disputes and responses.
- Develop case strategy, evaluate liability and damages, and advise clients on case value and resolution options.
- Appear for hearings, status conferences, mediations, and trials in state and federal courts.
- Work collaboratively with claims professionals, paralegals, and outside counsel to meet deadlines and client objectives.
- Manage case budgets, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Negotiate settlements and prepare settlement agreements and releases as needed.
- Mentor junior attorneys and assist with training on litigation best practices and courtroom procedures.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the Texas Bar (active license required).
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably including insurance defense, general tort, and mass tort work.
- Demonstrated courtroom experience in state and federal courts, including hearings and trials.
- Strong motion practice skills and experience drafting and arguing dispositive and procedural motions.
- Proven ability to take and defend depositions and manage discovery efficiently.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a heavy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience with case management software and e-filing systems preferred.
- High ethical standards, professionalism, and strong client-service orientation.
