Job summary

Matthews & Matthews, LLP in Destin, FL is seeking an Associate Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of civil and business litigation experience. You will manage cases from inception through resolution, develop case strategies, conduct discovery, and draft pleadings and motions while maintaining strong client relationships.

Ideal candidates will have first-chair trial experience, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

• Civil and/or business litigation experience, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
• First-chair trial experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent legal research, writing, advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and sound professional judgment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Florida Bar admission and good standing.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking an Associate Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will represent clients in a broad range of civil and business litigation matters, managing cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include developing case strategy, conducting discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, participating in hearings, mediations, and trials, and maintaining strong client relationships.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have civil and/or business litigation experience, including significant experience handling discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. First-chair trial experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate excellent legal research, writing, advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities and sound professional judgment. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is essential. Applicants must be admitted to The Florida Bar and be members in good standing.
