Job summary

DeMayo Law Offices, LLP in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a battle-tested Trial Attorney – Personal Injury to lead high-value cases from intake through verdict. You’ll manage all stages of litigation with the support of an experienced legal staff.

This role requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, active NC Bar license, and at least five years of plaintiff-side experience in NC; SC Bar admission is a plus. Join a firm dedicated to justice and results.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school required.
• Licensed in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
• At least 5 years of plaintiff’s litigation experience in NC.
• SC Bar admission preferred.
• Proven ability to manage complex personal injury cases from start to finish.
• Deep understanding of civil litigation rules, courtroom procedure, and trial strategy.
• Fearless presence in the courtroom and calm under pressure.
• Excellent writing, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex personal injury cases through all litigation stages in NC District and Superior Courts.
• Investigate claims, develop case strategy, and draft briefs and motions.
• Conduct depositions, discovery, expert consultations, and witness preparation.
• Try cases to verdict, presenting evidence and arguing to win.
• Provide sound legal counsel and set realistic expectations for clients.
• Mentor junior attorneys and improve processes within the team.

We’re looking for a Litigation Attorney to take the lead on high-value personal injury cases, representing clients from intake through verdict. You’ll handle all aspects of litigation—including discovery, mediation, and jury trials with the full support of our experienced legal staff.

What You’ll Do

• Lead complex personal injury cases through all litigation stages in NC District and Superior Courts (SC Bar a plus).

• Try cases to verdict—presenting evidence, making opening and closing arguments, and cross-examining witnesses with confidence and clarity.
• Provide sound legal counsel and set realistic expectations for clients throughout the litigation journey.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to improving processes within the litigation team.
