Job summary

Orion Placement in Bastrop, Texas, is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to handle business, property, contract, and related disputes within a growing practice. You will perform legal research, draft pleadings and briefs, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court, working closely with Partners to develop case strategies and deliver high‑quality advocacy across sophisticated matters.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
• 5+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to draft high-quality litigation documents.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters involving business, property, contract, and related disputes.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Develop case strategies and work closely with Partners on complex and high-value matters.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing counsel and other parties.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and other litigation-related matters.
• Manage case files, deadlines, and litigation activity from inception through resolution.
• Communicate clearly and persuasively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other involved parties.
• Monitor developments in Texas law, including the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
• Maintain approximately 7 billable hours per day.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
