Job summary

Tyson & Mendes in Sacramento is seeking an Associate Attorney to grow under a seasoned partner with decades of litigation experience. You will handle discovery, research, writing, motion practice, depositions, and client communications, with increasing responsibility as you learn.

We offer a mentoring environment and a robust work culture in a growing team, with flexible options for remote, hybrid, or onsite work. A California Bar license and a JD from an ABA-accredited school are required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active CA bar license.
• 1–8 years of litigation experience including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload; prior insurance defense experience preferred.
• Familiarity with litigation timekeeping and billing systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop compelling case strategies and drive results.
• Independently manage court appearances, depositions, motion practice, and trials.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff at all experience levels.
• Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients.
• Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team growth.
