Key Responsibilities

• Case Ownership: Manage complex civil litigation files across the full dispute lifecycle, from initial strategy to trial or negotiated resolution.
• Courtroom & Deposition Advocacy: Take and defend depositions, argue motions in court, and represent corporate clients during contested proceedings.
• Pleadings & Motion Practice: Draft persuasive pleadings, written discovery, dispositive motions, and strategic evaluation reports.
• Client Counseling: Advise corporate clients and insurance carriers directly on risk assessment, case strategy, litigation budgets, and exposure.
• Litigation Management: Partner with dedicated paralegals and legal support staff to ensure seamless electronic discovery, document control, and trial readiness.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of dedicated civil litigation or insurance defense practice in a law firm setting.
• Licensure: Active and unblemished license to practice law from the North Carolina State Bar.
• Courtroom Readiness: Demonstrated background managing court appearances, motion practice, and depositions independently.
• Technical Savvy: High proficiency using legal research platforms, electronic court filing systems, and modern legal management tools.
