Job summary

Confidential Employer is seeking an attorney with 2+ years of civil litigation experience to join our litigation-focused firm. This role concentrates on personal injury defense, catastrophic loss, and insurance defense, offering meaningful courtroom opportunities and ownership of challenging cases.

Initially, you will work onsite for the first 90 days to build relationships and familiarity with our practice, then enjoy flexible hybrid opportunities.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and bar admission.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Active Texas bar license for Texas-based positions.
• Experience conducting depositions, preparing motions, and managing discovery.
• Trial experience or strong interest in developing courtroom skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload involving personal injury defense, catastrophic injury, insurance defense, and complex civil litigation.
• Develop litigation strategies and handle cases from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Work closely with expert witnesses, clients, and litigation support professionals.
• Analyze evidence, evaluate case exposure, and provide strategic recommendations.
• Maintain clear communication with clients regarding case developments and litigation strategy.
• Independently manage deadlines, litigation priorities, and case preparation.
• Meet an annual billable-hour target of approximately 2,000 hours.
