Job summary

Smith Debnam seeks a full-time Associate Attorney in Raleigh, NC to support commercial and bankruptcy litigation efforts. The candidate will work on matters across Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Equipment Leasing & Finance Litigation, and creditors’ rights, with opportunities to develop practice leadership.

The role requires at least two years of private litigation experience, NC Bar in good standing, strong writing and courtroom skills, and a motivation to market the practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience across listed practice areas.
• Private litigation practice experience preferred.
• Strong legal analysis and writing skills.
• Strong courtroom and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Self-motivated with the ability to market practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in representation of businesses in Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Equipment Leasing & Finance Litigation, Commercial Creditor Bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights.
• Maintain active involvement in Raleigh office with travel 10–25% for court appearances and related activities.
