Job summary

Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP seeks an experienced litigation attorney for our Scranton or Montrose, PA offices. You will manage a broad range of matters from inception to resolution, collaborating with a supportive team of attorneys and staff.

Required: J.D., PA bar admission, 3–5 years of substantive litigation in state or federal court, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Pennsylvania bar admission in good standing.
• 3–5 years of substantive litigation experience in state and/or federal court.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Experience handling depositions, mediations, or trials.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation from case assessment to settlement negotiations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands/responses, and memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and attend court conferences.
• Analyze complex issues and provide practical, business-oriented advice to clients.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, courts and colleagues.
• Assist attorneys with high-stakes matters and independently manage assigned cases.
