Baum O’Connor Cullen Chmiel is seeking a litigation associate with 1–3 years of experience and an interest in medical malpractice defense. The candidate may be awaiting PA bar results.

The firm, a downtown Pittsburgh practice, represents physicians, hospitals and health care professionals in malpractice litigation and offers competitive compensation with year-end bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• PA bar admission required or pending exam results.
• Desire to work as part of a team and independently with guidance.
• Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to build your career in medical malpractice defense.
• Ability to analyze facts and advance cases through all stages.

Responsibilities

• Draft and respond to written discovery.
• Conduct medical records reviews.
• Draft client reports and correspondence.
• Draft and argue motions and preliminary objections.
• Attend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses and experts.
• Assist in trial preparation and attend trial.
