Job summary

Orion Placement in Waco, TX seeks a newly licensed attorney to manage and support civil litigation cases from investigation through resolution. You’ll draft pleadings, motions, and discovery, conduct depositions, and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials, with direct client interaction and mentorship from senior trial attorneys.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas license to practice law.
• Newly licensed attorneys with up to 3 years of experience welcome.
• Interest in civil litigation, insurance defense, or personal injury.
• Strong legal research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
• Prior civil litigation or insurance defense experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support civil litigation cases from initial investigation through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Assist with trial preparation and gain opportunities to participate in jury trials.
• Work directly with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Analyze case evidence, medical records, and claims documentation.
• Collaborate with experienced trial attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
