A highly regarded law firm in Washington, DC seeks a mid-level Litigation Associate to join its expanding practice. This role offers meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and hands-on experience with high-stakes disputes.

The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of litigation experience, a J.D. from an accredited law school, and be admitted in good standing to the District of Columbia Bar. Strong written and verbal communication and trial-prep skills are essential.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Must be admitted to and in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar.
• 4–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Outstanding academic credentials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience handling all aspects of written discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing witnesses, and taking and defending depositions.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters through all phases of the case lifecycle.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings.
• Conduct legal research, factual investigations, and case analysis.
• Handle all aspects of written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Collaborate closely with partners on case strategy and matter management.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
• Assume increasing responsibility for client relationships and litigation strategy.
