Job summary

Ascendion, a national law firm, seeks a Litigation Associate with 2-4 years of defense litigation experience to join its growing litigation practice. You will handle all stages from pre-suit through trial and appeal, gaining hands-on experience on high-exposure matters with experienced litigators.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly motivated, and able to develop trial skills while collaborating with colleagues across offices in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2+ years of defense litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of litigation from pre-suit to appeal.
• Conduct legal and factual research on individuals, businesses, and industry matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and client communications.
• Assist with case strategy development and trial preparation.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial proceedings.
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
