Job summary

DeWitt LLP in Madison, Wisconsin seeks a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney with an interest in trust and estates litigation to join our Madison office. The role offers collaboration with experienced partners on diverse matters, with emphasis on developing the associate's professional network and client relationships.

The Associate will support partners in managing civil litigation for our established client base, and will grow a personal practice through networking.

Qualifications

• J.D. required from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of litigation experience preferred (judicial clerkship valued).
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist partners in the representation of clients in civil litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Participate in discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and preparing deposition outlines.
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as appropriate.
• Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on case strategy and client communication.
• Maintain relationships with existing firm clients through high-quality service.
• Engage in professional networking and business development to cultivate new client relationships.
• Stay current on legal developments relevant to litigation practice.
