Job summary

Ascendo-Resources is seeking a detail-oriented General Liability Associate Attorney to join a Columbia, SC team. You will work closely with experienced trial attorneys on general liability and personal injury matters.

You will manage cases from filing through resolution, draft pleadings and motions, coordinate with experts, and appear at depositions and hearings while building your litigation skills. This role suits an attorney aiming to develop a long-term career in litigation with mentorship

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active member in good standing with the South Carolina Bar.
1+ year of litigation experience; personal injury experience preferred.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated interest in Personal Injury and General Liability litigation.
Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
Self-motivated and driven to build a long-term career in litigation.

Responsibilities

Provide legal support to clients and trial attorneys throughout the litigation process.
Manage assigned files from complaint through resolution.
Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing case updates.
Prepare legal reports, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
Work with expert witnesses, including conferences and preparation of expert reports and affidavits.
Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
Collaborate closely with Litigation Paralegals and Case Managers to effectively manage cases.
