Job summary

MG+M The Law Firm in New York, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. The role focuses on general liability and labor law matters, with opportunities to manage matters from inception to resolution.

Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited law school, at least three years of litigation experience in labor law or general liability, NY admission (NJ a plus), and strong motion, deposition, and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of three (3) years of litigation experience in Labor Law or General Liability.
• Admitted to practice in New York; New Jersey a plus.
• Experience with motion practice and depositions.
• Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Capable of independent work.
• Work in an organized and efficient manner.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to analyze complex matters.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a general liability and labor law litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial.
• Review and analyze discovery requests and responses.
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, and other litigation filings.
• Take lead roles in plaintiff and expert witness depositions.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
• Collaborate with partners, clients, and team members to develop case strategy.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing and time records.
