Responsibilities:
- Serve in the best interest of your clients during real estate closings, in real estate disputes, and real estate litigation.
- Coordinate detailed due diligence, and inspect title examination, closing binder, and legal documents for legal risk, completion, and accuracy.
- Cooperate with city boards and agencies to obtain permits and avoid zoning legal issues.
- Negotiate real estate transaction terms and conditions, and facilitate the transfer of title between borrowers, real estate agents, and title company.
- Oversee support staff such as paralegals and clerks.
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
- Advise clients on business and legal transactions.
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
- Handle residential and commercial landlord-tenant-related disputes with the potential to handle corresponding litigation disputes.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding research, negotiation, networking, and communication skills are necessary.
- Be a member of your local bar association and hold a current law license in the state.
- 3 years of experience as a residential or commercial real estate attorney, as a transactional attorney, or as corporate counsel for a real estate development firm.
- A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Relevant knowledge of property management, land use, title insurance, business law, and residential and commercial real estate law, including litigation.
