Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks an Associate Attorney in Elizabeth, NJ with at least two years of litigation experience. The role focuses on landlord-tenant, commercial litigation, and real estate matters, offering substantial courtroom exposure and direct client interaction.

The candidate must hold a J.D. from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in New Jersey, with strong writing and advocacy skills and the ability to work independently in a busy practice.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
• Two years of litigation experience required.
• Strong writing, research, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational and case-management skills.
• Comfortable appearing in court and dealing directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Handle commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters from inception through resolution.
• Regularly appear in court for hearings, motions, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy.
• Handle commercial litigation involving leases, contracts, real estate disputes, and related matters.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Manage an active caseload while working with the attorneys and support staff in the office.
• Take ownership and responsibility for assigned matters.
