Duties
- Handle commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters from inception through resolution.
- Regularly appear in court for hearings, motions, settlement conferences, and trials.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy.
- Handle commercial litigation involving leases, contracts, real estate disputes, and related matters.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
- Manage an active caseload while working with the attorneys and support staff in the office.
- Take ownership and responsibility for assigned matters.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
- At least two years of litigation experience.
- Strong writing, research, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and case-management skills.
- Comfortable appearing in court and dealing directly with clients.
- Able to work independently in a busy litigation practice.
- Desire to work, learn, take responsibility, and develop as an attorney.
Education
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
