Job summary

Larson Health Advocates, a Seattle-area boutique law firm, seeks a full-time litigation attorney for a remote role based in Washington State with in-person travel in the Seattle area as needed. Responsibilities include managing medical malpractice defense matters, drafting motions, and handling depositions and discovery.

Qualifications

• Active Washington State bar license in good standing.
• 5+ years civil litigation experience, with medical malpractice/healthcare defense preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills to distill complex medical facts.
• Comfort taking depositions and appearing in court.
• Independent remote work with strong collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of medical malpractice and healthcare-defense matters.
• Draft and argue motions, defend depositions, and manage discovery incl. medical records review.
• Research and analyze complex legal issues and develop case strategy with partners.
• Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Represent healthcare professionals in licensing and board matters as needed.

Larson Health Advocates (LHA), a boutique Seattle law firm, specializing in healthcare defense has an immediate opening for a full-time litigation attorney. The position is remote/virtual, but we are looking for someone based in Washington State with the ability to travel to the Seattle area for in-person meetings, court appearances, etc. when needed.

The virtual nature of this job requires a motivated, tech-comfortable individual with strong communication skills. Successful candidates will have experience defending complex litigation matters involving bodily injury, defending doctors, health care providers, nurses and other medical professionals in medical malpractice claims, and representing medical professionals in licensing proceedings. Attorneys receive unlimited PTO, 10 paid holidays + paid firm closure the last week of the year, premium health/vision/dental insurance, cell phone benefit, and retirement matching.

What You'll Do:

• Independently manage and support a caseload of medical malpractice and related healthcare-liability defense matters from intake through resolution.
• Draft and argue motions, conduct and defend depositions, and manage discovery, including review of complex medical records.
• Research and analysis of complex legal issues.
• Develop case strategy in partnership with partners and communicate directly with clients and insurance representatives.
• Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials.
• Represent healthcare professionals in licensing, credentialing, and Department of Health / professional board matters as needed.
• Stay current on developments in medical malpractice and healthcare liability law.

What We're Looking For:

• Washington State bar license, active and in good standing.
• 5+ years of civil litigation experience; medical malpractice, healthcare liability, or insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex medical facts into clear, persuasive arguments.
• Confidence taking and defending depositions and appearing in court.
• A collaborative, client-focused approach and sound judgment working independently in a remote environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, and comfort with standard legal technology and remote-collaboration tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000, depending on experience
• 401(k) retirement and profit-sharing plan.
