Orion Placement is seeking a skilled civil litigator for a confidential employer in St. Louis, MO. The role requires handling complex civil litigation from investigation through trial with opportunities for depositions and court appearances.

The ideal candidate holds an active Missouri Bar license with 3+ years of civil litigation experience; civil defense and maritime exposure are a plus. The position offers a hybrid schedule with remote work one day per week.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Civil defense litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Jones Act, FELA, or maritime litigation experience is a plus.
• Deposition, courtroom, and trial preparation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex civil litigation matters from initial investigation through resolution or trial.
• Draft persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research, discovery, and case strategy development.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in court proceedings.
• Prepare cases for hearings, mediations, settlements, and trials.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys on sophisticated litigation, including civil defense and maritime-related matters.
• Develop strong client relationships and provide practical, strategic legal guidance.

$120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Note

Candidates must hold an active Missouri law license and have 3+ years of civil litigation experience. Civil defense litigation experience is preferred, and experience with Jones Act or FELA matters is especially welcome.
