Location

This is a hybrid role based in St. Louis, MO, offering a strong balance of in-office teamwork and work-from-home flexibility. Candidates must be licensed in Missouri. Relocation candidates are welcome, but relocation assistance is not provided.

Note

Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice law in Missouri and have at least 2+ years of insurance defense experience. Illinois licensure is a plus.

Job Description

• Handle a variety of civil defense and insurance defense litigation matters.
• Work on cases involving transportation liability, premises liability, product liability, general liability, and related defense matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions as appropriate based on experience level.
• Attend court hearings, conferences, mediations, and other case‑related proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and develop clear, well‑supported legal analysis.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and internal team members.
• Manage deadlines, case strategy, and file workup with strong attention to detail.
• Collaborate with experienced trial attorneys and gain meaningful litigation and courtroom exposure.

Qualifications

• Missouri Bar license required.
• 2+ years of insurance defense experience required.
• Civil litigation experience required.
• Experience with transportation liability, premises liability, product liability, or general liability preferred.
• Illinois Bar license is a plus.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and comfortable managing litigation deadlines.
