Trueline Talent’s client, a Texas-based litigation firm with a national reach, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Houston team. This role offers ownership of an active docket and direct work with sophisticated clients and insureds, handling matters from early strategy through trial.

Ideal candidates will have 3–7 years of substantive civil litigation experience, a Texas Bar license in good standing, and a track record in insurance defense or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active docket of 25+ civil litigation matters across Texas.
• Handle insurance defense, personal injury, commercial transportation, construction defect, and related matters.
• Develop litigation strategy, evaluate exposure, and drive matters toward resolution or trial.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, insureds, and assigning attorneys.
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other documents.
• Prepare clients, insureds, witnesses, and others for depositions.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Coordinate with experts and consultants.
• Prepare for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
• Conduct settlement negotiations.
• Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial proceedings.
• Maintain command of case facts, parties, claims, strategy, risk, and deadlines.
• Work with legal support professionals to keep matters moving efficiently.

Trueline's client, an established Texas-based litigation firm with a national reach and a strong reputation representing insurers and businesses in complex civil matters, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Houston team. This is an opportunity for an experienced litigator to take meaningful ownership of an active docket, work directly with sophisticated clients and insureds, and handle matters from early strategy through trial.

What You'll Do as the Litigation Associate Attorney:

• Manage an active caseload of approximately 25+ civil litigation matters throughout Texas
• Handle insurance defense, personal injury, commercial transportation, construction defect, and related commercial litigation matters
• Develop litigation strategy, evaluate exposure, and help drive matters toward efficient resolution or trial
• Maintain regular communication and reporting with clients, insureds, and assigning attorneys
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal documents
• Prepare clients, insureds, witnesses, and other parties for depositions
• Take and defend depositions
• Coordinate with experts and consultants when appropriate
• Prepare for and appear at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings
• Conduct settlement negotiations when appropriate
• Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial proceedings
• Maintain command of case facts, parties, claims, strategy, risk, and deadlines
• Work closely with legal support professionals to keep matters moving efficiently

Must-Haves as the Litigation Associate Attorney:

• Active Texas Bar license in good standing
• 3-7 years of substantive civil litigation experience
• Experience in insurance defense, general personal injury, commercial transportation, construction defect, or a closely related litigation practice
• Ability to independently manage an active litigation docket
• Experience with discovery, depositions, motions, hearings, and litigation strategy
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Excellent client communication and reporting skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Nice-to-Haves as the Litigation Associate Attorney:

• Trial experience
• Commercial transportation or trucking defense experience
• Admission to one or more United States District Courts in Texas
• Portable business
• 8+ years of significant, directly relevant litigation experience for consideration at a more senior level

• Base salary of $120,000-$175,000, depending on experience, with additional flexibility for highly experienced attorneys and candidates with meaningful portable business
• Lucrative production-based bonus program designed to meaningfully reward attorneys who exceed annual billable targets, with increasing earning potential as production grows
