Trueline's client, an established Texas-based litigation firm with a national reach, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Dallas team. This role offers an experienced litigator the opportunity to independently manage a substantive defense docket while working directly with insurers, businesses, insureds, experts, and experienced trial attorneys.
What You'll Do as the Litigation Associate Attorney:
- Manage an active docket of civil litigation matters throughout Texas
- Handle insurance defense, general personal injury, commercial transportation, construction defect, and related matters
- Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability, damages, exposure, and resolution options
- Provide timely reporting and strategic recommendations to clients, insureds, and assigning attorneys
- Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Prepare clients, insureds, witnesses, and other parties for depositions
- Take and defend depositions
- Coordinate with experts and consultants
- Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings
- Negotiate settlements when appropriate
- Prepare matters for trial and participate in trial proceedings
- Maintain detailed knowledge of assigned cases, deadlines, strategy, and risk
- Coordinate effectively with legal support staff
Must-Haves as the Litigation Associate Attorney:
- Active Texas Bar license in good standing
- 3-7 years of substantive civil litigation experience
- Experience in insurance defense, general personal injury, commercial transportation, construction defect, or a related litigation practice
- Ability to independently manage litigation matters
- Strong discovery and deposition experience
- Strong motion practice and legal writing skills
- Experience handling hearings and contested proceedings
- Strong client communication and reporting abilities
- Excellent organization and deadline management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to consistently meet the firm's associate billable expectation of 160 hours per month, or 1,920 hours annually
- Ability to work in-office and attend proceedings throughout Texas as required
Nice-to-Haves as the Litigation Associate Attorney:
- Trial experience
- Commercial trucking or transportation defense experience
- Admission to one or more Texas federal district courts

- Base salary of $120,000-$175,000, depending on experience
