Job summary

WiseLex BPO in Denver, Colorado is seeking a dedicated Litigation Associate Attorney to join our team onsite. You will investigate and defend first- and third-party insurance claims, manage depositions, draft motions, and participate in hearings to build defenses and settlements.

The ideal candidate has a JD from an ABA-accredited school, active Colorado Bar, at least three years of civil litigation experience, and proven insurance defense or coverage work.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Colorado Bar admission (or eligibility with admission within a reasonable timeline).
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience in a law firm.
• Demonstrated experience in insurance defense, personal injury, or insurance coverage matters.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills; ability to craft persuasive motions and legal opinions.
• Excellent oral advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple matters simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and defend first- and third-party insurance claims, including personal injury, construction, premises liability, coverage disputes, and bad faith matters.
• Manage and take depositions, including preparing witnesses and developing deposition strategy.
• Draft dispositive motions, memoranda, and comprehensive coverage opinions.
• Attend court hearings, conduct examinations under oath, and engage in settlement negotiations as appropriate.
• Collaborate with in-house counsel, claims professionals, and clients to develop defense strategy and trial readiness.
• Analyze complex insurance coverage issues, policy language, and applicable law to support defense or dispute resolution.
• Maintain meticulous case files, track deadlines, and ensure adherence to all regulatory and firm standards.
• Mentor junior associates and contribute to professional development initiatives as needed.
