Job description

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated and skilled Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Texas. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an associate with civil defense litigation experience to handle a variety of complex legal matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing cases related to personal injury defense, transportation, insurance, commercial disputes, property owners’ associations, and employment issues. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills while working effectively in a collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil defense litigation matters, including personal injury defense, insurance, and commercial disputes.
  • Handle written discovery, motions, hearings, and depositions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and responses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and senior attorneys to develop case strategies and approaches.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders involved in legal matters.
  • Manage case deadlines and ensure all documents are filed by applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas and good standing.
  • 2-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a focus on personal injury defense, transportation, insurance, or commercial disputes.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters with a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities, with the capability to apply legal principles to real-world situations.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player who works well in a professional environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and good-standing membership with the State Bar of Texas.

  • Proven experience in civil defense litigation, particularly in personal injury, insurance, and commercial disputes.
