Job summary

Partners Legal Search seeks an Associate Attorney for its Pittsburgh office, with 2+ years of asbestos defense, toxic tort, product liability, or general civil defense experience. This role offers meaningful responsibility, mentorship from experienced trial attorneys, and opportunities to work on high‑value defense matters in a collaborative, trial‑focused environment.

You will draft pleadings, take depositions, attend hearings, and contribute to trial preparation while advancing your litigation

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• 2+ years of experience in asbestos defense, toxic tort, product liability, or general civil litigation.
• Admission in Ohio, New York, or West Virginia is highly desirable.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and client communications.
• Ability to manage litigation matters independently while working effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proactive, client-focused, and solution-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, written discovery, dispositive motions, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Manage discovery and assist in developing litigation strategy.
• Attend court conferences, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Communicate directly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as needed.
• Take ownership of assigned matters while working collaboratively with partners and other attorneys.
