Role Description

The Litigation Associate will handle a range of civil litigation matters, including case evaluation, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and assisting with trial preparation. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing case files, communicating with clients, drafting and responding to discovery, preparing for and attending depositions, and appearing in court as needed under supervision or independently. The role also involves collaborating with managing attorney and other team members on strategy, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring deadlines are met. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Riverside, CA, with regular in-office work and the flexibility to complete some tasks from home.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, including civil procedure, evidence, and applicable state and federal rules.
• Experience preparing and arguing Motions, including dispositive and procedural motions.
• Advanced Research skills, including use of legal research platforms to analyze case law, statutes, and regulations.
• Ability to prepare for and conduct Depositions, including drafting outlines and summaries.
• Familiarity with Courts, including filing procedures, local rules, and courtroom practice.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active California bar membership in good standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with standard office and legal software; experience with case management systems is a plus.
• Prior litigation experience, including law firm or clerkship experience, strongly preferred.
