Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Nashville is seeking a Litigation Associate to join our office. This role offers exposure to high-stakes disputes across diverse industries and collaboration with leading trial lawyers in a nationally respected practice.

The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years of litigation experience, strong writing and research skills, and admission to the Tennessee Bar; federal clerkship is a plus. You will contribute to strategy and client matters in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of litigation experience at a law firm, representing clients in TN state court and federal court, in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion drafting, and hearings and trial or trial preparation.
• Outstanding writing, research, and analytical skills; strong academic credentials from a Top 50 law school.
• Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
• Ideal candidate will be highly motivated to be part of an active trial practice, demonstrate initiative, assume responsibility for client matters, and exhibit the interpersonal skills to work well as part of a large, collaborative team.
• Admission to the Tennessee Bar is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with experience in white collar matters, investigations, and/or complex commercial litigation to work on sophisticated disputes and high-stakes matters across a broad range of industries. The position offers meaningful client exposure, active involvement in case strategy, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced trial lawyers in a collaborative and nationally respected practice.

Job Requirements:

• Candidates should have 3 to 6 years of litigation experience at a law firm, representing clients in both TN state court, as well as federal court, in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion drafting, and hearings and trial or trial preparation
