Key Responsibilities
As a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney, you will:
- Represent employers, insurers, and third‑party administrators in workers’ compensation matters.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare settlement documents.
- Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as required.
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues to advise clients effectively.
- Negotiate and resolve claims in a client‑centered, efficient manner.
- Manage caseload independently while collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.
- Maintain detailed communication and reporting with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar required.
- 2+ years of workers’ compensation defense experience (required; other practice areas not accepted).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in technology and adaptable to a paperless workflow.
- Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation & Schedule
- Location: California – Remote or In‑Office (Agoura Hills, Encino, Long Beach, Orange County, Sacramento, San Diego, and others).
- Schedule: Full‑time, flexible hybrid or remote arrangement.
- Billable Target: 40 hours/week (additional hours count toward bonuses; legal assistants’ billed hours can contribute).
