The Litigation Adjuster I works under the supervision of litigation management to manage claim files, direct defense attorneys on first- or third-party lawsuits, and analyze/evaluate coverage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.
• Equivalent experience may substitute for minimum educational requirements.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant insurance claims or legal work experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex property, liability, and unusual claims.
• Oversee timely disposition of litigated claims.
• Develop initial litigation plan with defense counsel.
• Control defense costs per Legal Department directives.
• Pay legal bills and review attorney billing.
• Monitor lawsuits to conclusion and keep files updated.
• Attend mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
• Analyze insurance policy coverage questions.
• Present high-level summaries to executives.
