OneMain Financial in Evansville, IN is hiring a Litigation Account Specialist to service past-due accounts and research unidentified payments. You will learn and perform duties such as case monitoring, contacting attorneys, and handling inbound inquiries about account status.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office; bookkeeping or collections experience is a plus. Hybrid or onsite arrangement may apply depending on team needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong phone and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• 1 year experience in bookkeeping, customer service, cashiering, or collections preferred.
• Consumer or personal lending background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Service clients on past due accounts and research unidentified payments.
• Maintain account documentation and follow up as necessary.
• Provide outstanding customer service to customers, 3rd parties, and OneMain employees.
• Process payments, misapplied payments, and system rejects; analyze issues.
• Process vendor invoices within 30 days and research balances.
• Monitor litigation cases and follow up with OneMain attorneys.
• Communicate with branch, headquarters, central servicing and vendors.

The Litigation Account Specialist will be responsible for servicing clients on past due accounts and perform preliminary research on unidentified payments. They use independent judgment to make surface decisions and resolve some situations. The chosen candidate will learn and perform one or more of the following functions:In the RoleMaintaining compliance with FDCPA and state regulationsPlace accounts that were referred for litigation with an active attorney firmMonitor litigation cases and follow up with OneMain attorneysTake inbound calls from customers and third parties regarding the statue of an active or inactive litigation account.Maintain account documentation and follow up as necessaryProvide outstanding customer service to customers, 3rd parties, and OneMain employeesProvide analysis on unidentified payments, misapplied payments, as well as system rejects and process paymentsProcess vendor invoices while staying within 30 day complianceProcess paid / settled accounts and complete balance researchComplete manual or request judgment satisfactions on settled / paid accounts and follow up with courts / attorney firmsAnalyze customer and branch needs / requests and make determinations as to the best method of resolving those issuesCommunication with OneMain personnel (branch, headquarters, central servicing), and vendorsProcess incoming and returned physical mailProcess electronic mail (email, fax, etc.)RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDStrong phone and communication skillsConsumer, Personal lending background would be a plusProficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Power Point)1 year experience in bookkeeping, customer service, cashiering, collections preferredAbility to work well under pressure and meet goals in a fast-paces environmentQuick thinker with creative research skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality with sensitive informationLocation: Evansville, INWho we AreOneMain Financial (NYSE: OMF) is the leader in offering nonprime customers responsible access to credit and is dedicated to improving the financial well-being of hardworking Americans.
