Job's Purpose:
As our catalog of titles grows and especially as we begin a direct partnership with the Pritzker Military Museum and Library, we’re seeking an individual to build our network and increase sales. The ideal candidate possesses vision, willingness, and personal commitment to achieve results.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This is a remote position requiring about 25% travel in the community.
- Work with the marketing and PR department to create a yearly plan.
- Prospect retail outlets to secure book positioning.
- Create opportunities for author talks and signings.
- Manage the entire sales process from identifying prospects, face-to-face meetings, to answering questions.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business relationships with internal partnership leads.
- Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
- Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales, and provide status reports.
- Create weekly call reports and set monthly/quarterly/yearly sales goals.
- Relay customer needs, challenges, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Research and employ best practices and promotional trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work with an in-house marketing team to formulate strategy.
Qualifications:
- Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of Master Wings’ complete portfolio.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with and influence others.
- Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.
- High degree of business acumen and professionalism, capable of engaging with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and in creating professional documents.
- Proficiency in Constant Contact.
- Confident, creative, dependable, organized, results-focused, and able to multitask with minimal supervision.
- Ability to recognize and seize sales opportunities.
- Proactive in correcting service issues to maintain positive relationships and exceed expectations.
- Background in writing, history, or military preferred.
- Experience in writing, negotiating, and reviewing contracts or proposals beneficial.
- Experience with Ingram Content Group advantageous.
