Job summary

Lead to Read KC is seeking a part-time Tutoring Facilitator to manage in-school, one-on-one tutoring sessions and act as a liaison with partner schools. The role includes coordinating virtual tutoring delivered by certified teachers, tracking attendance, and ensuring students stay on task.

This position starts in October 2026 and requires 9-15 hours per week across 2-3 days. Requirements include a high school diploma (post-secondary education preferred), strong interpersonal and writing skills,

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices).
  • Personal transportation and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor weekly Lead to Read KC online tutoring sessions at local partner elementary schools.
  • Tutoring is provided virtually by Hoot Reading's certified classroom teachers.
  • Facilitator manages students in each tutoring session.
  • Support/organize student devices and headsets to ensure on-task participation.
  • Train students and teachers on tutoring procedures.
  • Record and monitor student progress and attendance.
