Job summary

The New Miami Local School District is seeking an Intervention Instructional Tutor (Part Time) for the New Miami Middle School. The role focuses on providing targeted literacy support to struggling readers within a 29-hour weekly framework at $32/hour for the 183-day school year.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering tiered literacy instruction, monitoring progress with assessments, and collaborating with teachers and parents to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education Field
• Valid driver’s license
• Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certification
• Willingness/ability to teach in a co-teaching setting and small group setting
• Previous classroom experience and working with struggling readers preferred
• Must meet the definition of “Highly Qualified” for certification purposes
• Satisfactory report from Criminal Records check

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level literacy learning experiences to struggling readers and writers
• Prescribe, teach, and assess a tiered course of study
• Identify students at risk for credit deficiency and provide intervention
• Support classroom instruction and use data to show growth
• Communicate with parents and other staff
• Utilize state standards-aligned core and supplemental materials
• Integrate technology into teaching and assessment processes
• Assist teachers with selecting books and materials for literacy needs
